aequa steht für soziale Gerechtig-keit.
aequa stands for social equity — from each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs. The aequa community encompasses a tapestry of people and projects woven together by a shared vision of a world where everyone can thrive. Together, we explore practices of hope, expanding our capacity for joy and our collective power in the process.
From 2017-2020, we experimented in building networks of community care with a range of gatherings, events, meetups and initiatives taking place in spaces across the city of Berlin and online. From 2020-2025, we ran two different shared community spaces in Exerzierstraße in Berlin Wedding (aequa Community Center, followed by e13 — now run by our pals at BSWC as ASHAWO CAFÉ), and also held a collective facilitation practice (aequa Workshops Collective) which helped to finance these spaces.
Right now we are in the process composting this project, which includes documenting learnings from those times, so that we can lovingly return them back into the soil of our city and the movements we move within.
In the meantime, this website is here as an archive.
Co-founder Sarj still hosts the monthly aequa Radio on Refuge Worldwide — tune in every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 14:00 to hear about amazing organizing happening in our city and beyond.

aequa bildet ein intersektionales Netzwerk von Menschen und Projekten, die von einer gemeinsamen Vision vereint werden: einer Welt, in der alle aufblühen können. Gemeinsam erkunden wir die Disziplin der Hoffnung und erweitern dabei unsere Fähigkeit zur Freude sowie unsere kollektive Kraft.
Von 2017 bis 2020 experimentierten wir mit dem Aufbau von Netzwerken für Gemeinschaftsfürsorge durch verschiedene Treffen, Veranstaltungen, Meetups und Initiativen in Räumen über ganz Berlin verteilt und online. Von 2020 bis 2025 betrieben wir zwei unterschiedliche Gemeinschaftsräume in der Exerzierstraße in Berlin-Wedding (aequa Community Center, gefolgt von e13 — inzwischen betrieben von unseren Freunden bei BSWC als ASHAWO CAFÉ) und unterhielten außerdem eine kollektive Moderationspraxis (aequa Workshops Collective), die zur Finanzierung dieser Räume beitrug.
Aktuell befinden wir uns im Prozess des „Kompostierens“ dieses Projekts. Dazu gehört, die Erkenntnisse aus dieser Zeit zu dokumentieren, um sie liebevoll zurück in den Boden unserer Stadt und der Bewegungen, in denen wir wirken, einfließen zu lassen.

Mitbegründer Sarj hostet weiterhin den monatlichen aequa Radio auf Refuge Worldwide — schaltet jeden dritten Mittwoch im Monat um 14:00 Uhr ein, um von inspirierenden Organisationsprozessen in unserer Stadt und darüber hinaus zu erfahren.
