Michelle is a queer East Asian cis-woman who advocates for collective transformation through her work as an intercultural trainer and a trauma-informed restorative yoga teacher. As both the firstborn child of a single parent immigrant in “Canada” and an immigrant to Germany herself, her background has informed how she holds space for and empowers folks to explore their identity and find their role in the work towards social equity.
Her work focuses on mindfulness in the body — examining how our nervous system influences our behaviour and connection to others, and vice versa. In her workshops, folks are invited to resource themselves with practices they can tangibly use in their daily lives. She believes that when we have deeper access to our true selves and live from a place of self-awareness, we can lead a life that feels authentic and in alignment with the changes we wish to see in our communities.
Michelle’s method and approach to facilitation is largely influenced by the work of Prentis Hemphill, Kai Cheng Thom, and Resmaa Menakem.
